Decoder inputs
The civics test version decoder and the N-648 eligibility checker process your inputs client-side only. Your filing date, age, LPR-status years, disability status, provider type, and related fields are not transmitted to our server and are not logged to analytics with identifying detail. We process the decoder verdict in your browser and discard the inputs when you reset the form or navigate away.
We treat naturalization-applicant data as sensitive. Many of our audience members are non-citizens who may have privacy concerns; we do not retain identifying inputs.
Site analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site usage — page-views, time-on-page, navigation paths. We use Consent Mode v2: by default, analytics_storage is granted (opt-out for analytics) and ad_storage is denied (opt-in for ads). You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner.
Even with analytics consent, decoder inputs (filing date, age, LPR years, disability status, provider type, N-648 condition category) are not sent to Google Analytics. Only aggregate page-view events with no decoder-input payload.
Cookies
- Consent preferences — a cookie that remembers your consent choice for the cookie banner. First-party, no third-party sharing.
- Google Analytics 4 — `_ga` and `_ga_*` cookies for aggregate analytics. Only set if you have not withdrawn consent for analytics_storage.
Third-party content
Some pages link to third-party sites (uscis.gov, ecfr.gov, DOJ EOIR, ImmigrationAdvocates.org, USCIS-published PDFs, USCIS processing-time tools). Those sites have their own privacy practices. We have no control over their data handling.
Data retention
Aggregate Google Analytics data is retained per Google's defaults (currently 14 months). We do not retain decoder inputs. We do not maintain a contact-form database.
Your rights
You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time via the cookie banner. You can also disable cookies in your browser. We do not currently support a formal data-access request process because we do not retain identifying decoder data; if you have specific requests, please contact us.
